Prosthesis Implants: Safe & Effective

Filed Under (erectile dysfunction treatment) by admin on 10-02-2010

In most cases (up to 95 per cent) prosthesis implants are able to provide an erection sufficient for sex. The quality of sexual intercourse is really high with prosthesis implants: up to 90 per cent of men reported their full satisfaction with surgery results and said that it met their expectations completely.

After the inflation of the implant, the penis becomes rigid and enlarged as in the course of standard erection. The feedback shows that erection duration is usually shorter when compared with the norm. The good news is that up-to-date implants may be chosen with regard to desirable size, circumference and firmness of the penis.

Moreover, an inflatable prosthetic device used for penile implantation does not affect sensitivity of the skin in the area. Ejaculation and orgasm sensations remain the same. The only drawback of the prosthesis is that it dulls natural erection-related reflexes. As a result, it will be no longer possible to achieve an erection without this device. After removing the prosthesis, it simply would not occur.

A couple of words should be said of potential complications, as no surgery can guarantee total absence of possible problems. Among complications which are known to take place from time to time with prosthesis implants are various infections, scars and erosions of tissue in the area close to the implant, constant bleeding (in that case a new surgery might be required). Few cases of mechanical failure were also reported.

A scar after the implantation surgery is very small. It can be hardly seen by others as it is located near the scrotum. It is quite difficult to tell if a man has got a penile prosthesis. So, there is no chance for awkward situations at all.
